Shown on the map are the 2 distinct areas of Andratx, the old town which is some 5 km inland and the resort of Puerto Andratx a former fishing village turned exclusive resort. The old town of Andratx is a charming little place overlooked by ancient watchtowers which were built to warn of attacks from Barbary pirates many centuries ago. In the shadow of the 3,366 foot Puig de Galatzó mountain, the white-walled houses of the town look much as they have for centuries.
On the Mallorca coast in a sheltered bay, the harbour area Puerto Andratx was previously a tiny fishing village that was caught up in the tourist boom of the 1960's and 1970's and became a resort favoured by the rich and famous, still relatively unspoilt unlike many other Mallorcan resorts, luxury yachts now sit alongside local fishing craft which still ply their trade from the harbour.
Puerto Andratx has a choice of hotels and self-catering villas and apartments for your stay in the resort.
Andratx and Puerto Andratx can be reached by way of the MA-1 motorway from the capital Palma de Mallorca, it is about 35 kilometres from the airport to the south-east of Palma.
