Novelda Spain - With its 27,000 or so inhabitants the town of Novelda lies within the province of Alicante on Spain's Costa Blanca. At one time a significant fortress town for the Moors, Novelda stands at a height of 241 feet above sea level.

Novelda is famous for both its marble (which is extracted from nearby quarries), and its Modernista architecture, best displayed in the Monastery of Santa María Magdalena, you might also want to visit the Modernist Museum.

Other products of the town include saffron and wine.

You might well want to choose to visit Novelda on market day (Wednesday) when you can enjoy the lively atmosphere and do a bit of shopping as well.

Places that you might also like to visit in Novelda include St Peter’s Church, the Archaeology Museum, and the Gómez-Tortosa Cultural Centre.

Alicante airport is about 25 km from Novelda & the sandy beaches of La Marina and Santa Pola some thirty minutes drive away.
