Costa Blanca Resorts - La Zenia Orihuela Costa
La Zenia - Located between the towns of Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca is the beautiful Costa Blanca resort of La Zenia. Situated in a district known as the Orihuela Costa, La Zenia is a popular and desirable holiday location.
La Zenia boasts a couple of excellent beaches, Cala Bosque beach and Cala Cerrada and is also close to some other superb beaches at Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca, both beaches have ‘blue flag’ status and are well cared for and maintained.
Another great feature is the picturesque cliff walk to Cabo Roig, with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea towards the sports resort of La Manga.
Work is currently being done at various points along the coast to extend and improve the promenade and cliff walk so that eventually visitors will be able to enjoy walking all the way from Campoamor to Torrevieja, a new marina is also planned at Torrevieja.

La Zenia currently has a good range of shops, bars and restaurants and a new commercial centre opened close to the motorway junction, has greatly improved the range of facilities available for visitors to the area, with a Lidl supermarket and a Mercadona supermarket amongst its facilities.
The renowned La Zenia Hotel is located right by the side of the beach and is well signposted from the N332 coast road, the La Zenia Hotel offers a good range of accommodation and some great facilities and entertainment.
La Zenia is very popular with Irish visitors and the famous ‘Paddy’s Point’ pub is reputed to have been the first Irish pub in the region, many visitors head for this popular meeting place.
At Paddy's Point you will find good food and plenty of live entertainment, there are also a number of other bars and restaurants which you can try, another popular Irish bar is Gogarty's.
The superb Saturday market at Playa Flamenca is just a short walk from La Zenia and is located behind the Mercadona supermarket (just follow the crowds!), it is held from 8am - 2pm and is a great place to find a bargain, or just stock up on some locally grown fresh fruit and vegetables.
The well known Cabo Roig strip is also close by and can be easily reached by bus and taxi or even by foot if you don’t mind a 15 minute walk. The ‘strip’ has a huge choice of bars and restaurants and plenty of live entertainment during the busy summer months.
Also close by is the Go-Kart track at Punta Prima, a great place to take the kids for an hour or two, there are even mini-karts and mini-quads for young children. In the summer of 2008, there was also a small children's funfair operating beside the Go-Karts, which was ideal for those too young or too scared to go on the karts. A trip into the town of Torrevieja should also be on the cards, its water park Aquopolis being amongst its main attractions.
La Zenia is located on the N332 coastal road between Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca and has its own exit from the AP-7 motorway (763), it is easily reached from both Murcia and Alicante airports being around 20 minutes from Murcia airport by car and 45 minutes from Alicante.
