Candanchu: A popular ski resort located in the Huesca province of the western Pyrenees in northern Spain, Candanchu (Candanchú) is a purpose built skiing village, with a decent selection of restaurants, cafes, bars and ski hire shops, it also has hotels and self-catering accommodation for your stay in the resort. Candanchu has 59km of marked out pistes, reaching a height of 2,400 metres, it has 9 green ski runs, 8 blue ski runs, 14 red ski runs and 17 black ski runs, to reach the runs, there are 6 chair lifts and 18 drag lifts (ski pulls).

Candanchu also has a ski school for beginners and less experienced skiers, though the skiing in the resort is generally quite tough and better suited to skiers with some experience.

The nearest main town is Jaca, and there is a neighbouring ski resort at Astun (Astún), which shares a ski pass with Candanchu, and is also shown in the above map.

Candanchu can be reached from the E-7 (N-330), it is about 99 kilometres driving distance from the city of Huesca and 168 kilometres driving distance from the regional capital Zaragoza, which also has an airport. Both Candanchu and Astun are very close to Spain’s border with France.
