Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria - Located on the south-western coastline of Gran Canaria in the Spanish Canary Islands, the resort and ubanization of Puerto Rico is a purpost built holiday resort, constructed to cash in on the lucrative Canary Islands tourism business. Well located and having good road connections, Puerto Rico is a good base for exploring the island, and as you would expect has an excellent range of facilities in the resort itself.

Puerto Rico has a nice sandy beach which is bordered on both side by two small harbours, the beach is clean, safe and had excellent facilities, as has the other nearby beach at Amadores which is situated in a small cove.
From the attractive harbours you can take boat trips around the island, and here you will also find plenty of watersports facilities.
Puerto Rico enjoys a wonderful climate and is particularly popular during the winter time when temperatures generally remain in the range 20 - 25 degrees Centigrade and the weather is probably more pleasant than during the summer when humidity can be high.
Rainfall is virtually non-existent during the summer months and the wettest months are usually December and January with maybe 8 rainy days per month.
Puerto Rico has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, mostly to be found in large commercial centres such as the Pasarela Centre and the Europa Shopping Centre, it also has a lively nightlife scene with a great choice of bars, discos and night-clubs, many offering karaoke, live music and games.

Puerto Rico can be easily accessed from the GC-500 coast road or the GC-1 motorway from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, it is around 44km from Las Palmas.
