Gran Canaria Resorts - Puerto de Mogan

Earning the nickname "Venice of the Canary Islands", Puerto de Mogan was until recent years just a small fishing village located at the mouth of the Barranco de Mogan, in south-western Gran Canaria. The waterfront area has now been mostly given over to holiday complexes, though these are generally low-rise and tastefully done.

The old fishing harbour still exists and modern craft sit comfortably alongside multi-coloured fishing boats which still operate from the port much as they have done for centuries. In the harbour area you will find some excellent seafood restaurants, with fresh fish the order of the day.

Also from the harbour, visitors can take a trip on the yellow submarine (Submarine Adventure), which submerges 8 times a day, offering an insight into the rich marine life of the area. Those who prefer to go it alone can take scuba diving courses which are also on offer. If you prefer to stay on top of the water, regular boat trips head out from the port to places such as Puerto Rico and Arguineguin.
