Gran Canaria Resorts - Playa del Ingles
Playa del Ingles (Spanish for "Englishmen's Beach") is a town and resort between the resorts of Maspalomas and San Agustin on the south coast of Gran Canaria in the Spanish Canary Islands, it is within the municipality of San Bartolome de Tirajana.
Playa del Ingles is a popular holiday destination with a fine sandy beach composed of tall sand dunes. Playa del Ingles has a resident population of around 17,000, which of course rises considerably during the busy holiday season. Playa del Ingles has a lively nightlife and a good range of facilities.

Much of Playa del Ingles nightlife centres around the huge Yumbo Centre where there are plenty of bars and restaurants (popular with gays), also the Kasbah Centre, if you fancy a flutter, there is also a Casino just outside the town.
If water sports are your thing, then you will find plenty of facilties in the resort including jet skiing, paragliding, windsurfing, and scuba diving, fun lovers can take a ride on the banana boat. Golfers can head for the Campo de Golf Maspalomas course or choose from others nearby such as Meloneras Golf or Salobre Golf and Resort
There are a huge range of tourist attractions in and around Playa del Ingles, some of the best include Holiday World in Maspalomas, the Aqua Park in Maspalomas, the Mundo Aborigen theme park (between Playa del Ingles and Fataga) and Palmitos Park, which is a few kilometres inland of Playa del Ingles (with regular free buses).
Playa del Ingles Hotels: There are over 100 Playa del Ingles hotels to choose from, among the most popular are the Hotel Riu Palace, the Los Salmones Apartments, the Hotel Neptuno, the Riu Papayas Hotel and the Hotel Lopesan Buenaventura.
Market: There are daily markets held in Playa del Ingles at the Parque Europeo (evenings), there is also a twice weekly market in San Fernando, Maspalomas weekly market is on Wednesdays.
Fiestas: There are a number of fiestas and celebrations held in and around Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas, check with the tourist information office for events during your stay. The biggest and best on Gran Canaria is the Las Palmas Carnival held throughout February each year.

Playa del Ingles is located between Maspalomas and San Agustin, about 30 kilometres from Gran Canaria International Airport (formerly known as Gando Airport) which itself is 20 kilometres from the capital Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
