Marbella is in the region of Andalucia, it was just a small village until the 1940's, in 1954 the luxury Hotel Marbella Club opened, it became a hit with the rich jet-set and its popularity grew as a result. Marbella is a great area for golf, and there are numerous golf courses within easy reach of the resort, one of the best being the Marbella Golf and Country Club.
Marbella is located on the N-340, just off the A-7 (E-15) motorway, it is about 50 kilometres from Malaga and its airport, it is popular holiday destination.
