Dolores Spain: A small agricultural village situated in the Vega-Baja district of the Alicante province, Dolores is a pretty place which is well known for its annual livestock fair called the “Feria Granadera”.
Renowned for its cattle rearing, it also produces large quantities of vegetables like artichokes a speciality.
Dolores was founded after areas of marshland were drained by order of the Cardinal of Murcia, following the War od Spanish Succession.
The highlight of the “Feria Granadera” is the competition for purebred Spanish horses.
Life in Dolores centres around the village square, which has some chamring little cafes and restaurants.
Dolores is located between San Fulgencio and Catral, and is close to the town of Almoradi, you can visit by taking the CV-901 from the AP-7 motorway, or the CV-859 from San Fulgencio.
