Tarifa Map - Above is a detailed street map of the popular coastal town of Tarifa on the Costa de La Luz, southern Spain. Located in the region of Andalucia, Tarifa is known as "the windsurfing capital of Europe", due to its superb conditions for enjoying this modern sport.
Tarifa has remains of an Arabic Castle which originally dates from the 8th Century. Tarifa is situated on the N-340 road between Cadiz and Algeciras and can be accessed from the airports at Gibraltar, Malaga and Jerez.
Tarifa has around 10 kilometres of fine sandy beaches set beside largely unspoilt countryside, and apart from windsurfers and water sports enthusiasts attracts birdwatchers, hikers, cyclists, horse riders and rock climbers.
There are plenty of hotels and cheap hostels available for your accommodation in the resort, you can also find lots of privately owed villas and apartments (see below) if you prefer self-catering accommodation.
Tarifa can be reached via the N-340 (E5), it is about 13 miles from Algeciras, and a driving distance of 66 miles from Cadiz.
