San Pedro del Pinatar (which means 'Saint Peter of the Pine Woods') is popular with both Spanish and international tourists and has a splendid marina with excellent water sports facilities, a good variety of shops, bars and restaurants and some fine beaches on both the Mediterranean and Mar Menor coastlines. The beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar and Lo Pagan face the warm Mar Menor, where water temperatures are 5° hotter than the Med.
