Salobrena (Salobreña) is an attractive "pueblo blanco", which tumbles down the side of an impressive rock just inland of the Costa Tropical coastline.
This weather also applies for the nearby Costa Tropical and Costa del Sol towns and resorts of Motril, Almunecar, Frigiliana, Torrox Costa, Molvizar, Torrox, Alta Mar, Torre del Diablo, Cómpeta, Lobres and La Herradura. One of the most attractive of the villages of the Costa Tropical, Salobrena also has a coastal area stretching for about 8 kilometres, its wide sandy beach is made of grey sand and has a number of chiringuitos (beach bars) and other bars and restaurants.
Salobrena can be reached via the N-340 coast road, and is approximately 75 kilometres from Malaga.
