Portinatx Ibiza - The most northerly resort on the island of Ibiza in the Spanish Balearic Islands is Portinatx, a mostly built for tourism holiday destination, which is quiet and laid back, except during the summer season when it can get pretty busy. The resort is compact and everything is within easy reach making it a perfect family holiday location.
Portinatx has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants and 4 beaches, each separated from the other by a rocky outcrop, it is a good area for water sports and also boasts a glass-bottomed boat enabling visitors to view the varied marine life of the island. The main beach S'Arenal Gros is gently sloping and has shallow water which is safe and ideal for families.
Portinatx does have a selection of hotels but the most popular form of holiday accommodation is self-catering apartments of which there is a good choice.
Portinatx hotels include the popular 4 Star Hotel Presidente Portinatx, the 3 Star Club Portinatx and the 3 Star Hotel El Greco.
In the rugged coastline in the area around Portinatx, there are some excellent walks offering picturesque views of the town and surrounding coast. Another good way to view the town is from the sea, you could take a trip on the ferry to San Antonio, an enjoyable way to spend a day.
Situated right on the north coast of Ibiza, Portinatx can be reached by way of the C-733 which runs all the way from the capital Ibiza Town (Eivissa).
