Map and Guide to Busot Costa Blanca

Located inland from El Campello, the small village of Busot has a population of about 3,000 and a municipal area of 33.84km2, it stands close to the Cabeco d’Or mountain, and is overlooked by its ruined Moorish castle which dates from the 12th century.

Busot is notable for its proximity to the famous Caves of Canelobre (Cuevas de Canelobre), where a cavern some 45m in height, 45m long and 35m wide, is entered from 700 metres up the mountain, it features spectacular stalagmites and stalactites in weird and wonderful shapes.

Busot itself is about 24 kilometres from Alicante and holds a Moors and Christians fiesta on the weekend after Easter.

The village was for many centuries annexed to Alicante and variously came under the Kingdoms of Castile and Valencia, during the reign of the Catholic Kings it came under the control of Alfonso Martínez de Vera, it finally gained its independence from Alicante in 1773.

Busot can be reached via the CV-777 from El Campello.
