Villamartin Spain Golf -

Of the three golf courses located near to each other in the Orihuela Costa area of the southern Costa Blanca, Spain, Villamartin is the most established and perhaps the best known of the three (the other two courses being the beautiful Campoamor and the tricky Las Ramblas). Villamartin is a championship course, one of the finest in Spain and played host to the 1994 Mediterranean Open. The Par 72 course was superbly designed by Paul Pulman and first opened in 1972, Villamartin has a playing distance of 5,259 metres, measured from the red tee and 6,037 metres, measured from the yellow tee, the green fees start from 56 euros (2006).

The renowned Villamartin Plaza has a super selection of bars and restaurants and also some useful shops and is a perfect spot for that "special night out". The gardens at Villamartin Spain are particularly beautiful, look closely and you will spot the unique naked lady golfer statue. Villamartin is located about 8 kilometres south of the busy town of Torrevieja where you can find some great facilities and the huge Friday market, Villamartin is also just a short drive from the Alicante - Cartagena motorway. The course boasts some splendid scenery and is of medium difficulty with excellent quality greens. The golf courses of Campoamor and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes drive away and if you are staying in the area it is worth trying all three courses. There are lots of other golf courses just down the coast in the Murcia regon.
